Banas, Elissa
Mrs. Banas is a lawyer who chose to become a social studies teacher in 1996. She lives in the Elmwood Village with her husband, Bill, and their two young daughters, Allie and Kate. If you run into Mrs. Banas you can ask her about her and her husband's part in founding the New Millennium Group; what it's like to see a space shuttle launch up close; their trip to Poland as guests of state with the crew of NASA's STS-90 mission in 1999; or her run for public office in 2001. Mrs. Banas is a graduate of Iroquois Central High School, Geneseo State College, and Case Western Reserve University's School of Law. She received her teaching certification from Buffalo State. Mrs. Banas is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Coordinator and can be found in room 105. She also teaches 12th grade IB History of the Americas.
