Recycling Program at CHS

Did you know that each year people throw away enough office and writing paper to build a 12 foot high wall from NYC to Los Angeles? (Abitibi Consolidated, 2005)

In an effort to prevent this waste from ending up in landfills, the students and faculty of City Honors have teamed up with the Abitibi Consolidated Recycling Division in order to implement the Abitibi Paper Retriever Program. Not only does our effort to protect the environment benefit our entire community, it also provides an opportunity to raise additional funds for our school. Depending on the amount of paper we collect, Abitibi Consolidated will forward a check to our school every month.

Therefore, the CHS community encourages parents and family members to participate in this environmental endeavor by placing the following items in the recycling bin outside the school: clean and dry newspapers, magazines, shopping catalogues, office or school paper, and mail. PLEASE, NO CARDBOARD OR BOOKS (TELEPHONE BOOKS INCLUDED)

Get involved! Help Reduce Waste! Recycle!
